Musica Sacra

Campion College established the Musica Sacra series in 1979 to make widely and cogently visible its commitment to the fine arts as integral to the education of the whole person and as essential to the spiritual and aesthetic life of a community.

For almost thirty years these concerts of sacred music, set mainly in the Campion chapel, have been hallmarks in the rich musical life of Regina; the Good Friday concert in particular has become an important event in the celebrations of Holy Week. In the fall, the events have been moveable feasts around either memorial days or Advent celebrations. The concerts endeavour to preserve and keep vital the tradition of centuries-old as well as new sacred music, and to celebrate the talents of Regina's performing artists.
