Campion College has joined the list of Jesuit institutions that are members of the Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit honour society for post-secondary education.

Fr. Benjamin Fiore, SJ, presented Campion's first inductees on April 23 at a special liturgy honouring the Jesuit jubilee year.

"Membership is restricted to no more than 4% of top students in their third or fourth year of study," said Fiore. This year we will induct fewer than 4%, two in this term and four in the fall."

Criteria for selection into the honour society is based on scholarship, loyalty and service. The two inductees, Joshua Freistadt and Nicholas Schonhoffer, were both selected for their excellent academic record, their demonstrated loyalty to the social and religious values of the college, and their service to others at the college and in the community.

Founded in 1915, the society has members from every one of the 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States, the three Jesuit schools of theology in the United States and Canada, and the Jesuit university in South Korea (Sogang). Campion College is the society's newest member.
